“I Owe You”

A letter to adopted mothers.

Dear Mother,

Just a little note to tell you how wonderful I think you are. I know that I probably don’t say it nearly enough, but I think that you are the finest, most loving mother in the entire world. You really are one of a kind and I could not have requested a better mother if I had asked God himself. (Maybe I did and he heard my heart).Thank you for loving me, like no birth mother ever could. More abundantly, more unconditionally, more than your own life. How Blessed am I!

I owe you -

My life, my love, my day and night. My time and energy, dark and light.

You stand for me when I’m too weak, and catch me when I fall.

Through ups and downs you’re always there, your needs from me are small.

Sometimes I need a word of praise, my mind is full of doubt, I come to you for comfort, and on you can always count.

If life should end before the day, there are three words I'd have to say, to state my feelings through-

I OWE YOU.
